“Rich Auntie, No Kids” is leaving 30 Rock. Ego Nwodim, who has entertained Saturday Night Live viewers with her comedic prowess over seven seasons, has announced her departure from the late-night series.
The actress posted the news on her Instagram account. “The hardest part of a great party is knowing when to say goodnight. But after seven unforgettable seasons, I have decided to leave SNL,” she writes, thanking series creator Lorne Michaels, her fellow castmates and crew for an incredible experience.
Her exit means that the show, as of now, has no Black female series regular or featured player. It was announced that Kam Patterson, a Black comedian and regular on the Kill Tony podcast, would join the 51st season as a new featured player, following the exit of Devon Walker.
