But it's her role as the tough, yet compassionate nurse Dana Evans on HBO Max's "The Pitt" that has finally given Louisiana native Katherine LaNasa an Emmy nomination.
LaNasa, 58, who grew up in Baton Rouge, is up for best supporting actress in a drama series for the critically acclaimed freshman medical drama starring Noah Wyle. Set in a modern-day hospital in Pittsburgh, specifically its frenzied emergency room, each episode represents one hour in the staff's fictional 15-hour work shift.
