Tributes have been paid to a "beautiful" eight-year-old girl who passed away earlier this week following a "long battle" with meningitis.

Kia Gott, from Bradford, in West Yorkshire , was just nine months old when she contracted the virus in September 2017.

She spent months in hospital and her family was told Kia may never be able to see or hear again. However, the young fighter defied the odds to arrive back home to her parents and regain her sight and hearing.

But after a eight-year-long battle with meningitis, Kia's family announced earlier this week she had tragically passed away.
