KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Wednesday, Alex Cain was in his car for 15 hours, a trip that found him learning of the shooting death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, on the radio.
“I was on the road on Wednesday for about 15 hours listening to the coverage on the radio. It was a very difficult afternoon for me and even just spending five hours with somebody, when they make a profound impact on you, it is difficult. So just pray for our country,“ said Cain.
Kirk’s impact on Cains life came during an encounter in 2021 when Cain was working security at the request of the Knoxville GOP.
Kirk was in Knoxville to attend the organizations Lincoln Day Dinner as the keynote speaker, asking for some additional security during his visit.
