CLEVELAND (WJW) -- There is new urgency to find out what's going on with the mental health for the accused killer of a Cleveland police officer.

Delawnte Hardy, who is alleged to have killed his own grandmother and Officer Jamieson Ritter, has been in a state-run mental health facility since last fall. Hardy was found incompetent for trial.

A hearing on Hardy's case is set for 1 p.m. Friday. You can watch that hearing live in the player above when it begins.

Cuyahoga County prosecutors are pressing doctors for answers. Prosecutors said Hardy did not take his medicine for months while at the hospital. For Hardy's case to go forward, he needs to be found competent by the end of October.
