NORTH SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WLNE) — The North Smithfield Fire Department responded to a troubling incident over the weekend involving two teens who took part in a dangerous TikTok challenge.
We’re seeing video of the moments the TikTok challenge happened.
According to the fire chief, on Saturday two teenage males, one 16, other 18, poured gasoline on themselves, then lit themselves on fire, and jumped off a train trestle nearly 30 feet up, into the water.
The 18-year-old was taken to the hospital with second and third degree burns on his back.
The 16-year-old wasn’t hurt.
