The county park at Little Flower is moving into its second phase as Delaware County installs lighting and security around the vacant mansion and embarks on a development plan for enhanced features there.

In 2016, Delaware County purchased the property off Springfield Road in Darby and Upper Darby for $1.7 million from Sisters of the Divine Redeemer. It wasn’t until 2023 when county council moved forward with construction that improvements began on the 33.5-acre parcel.

The first phase of the park’s development included a popular walking trail toward the front of the property, a parking area compliant with Americans With Disabilities Act requirements, landscaping and stormwater improvements and signage. This phase was completed last year.
