A 27-year-old Colorado man died after driving over the rim of the Grand Canyon near the South Kaibab Trailhead, the National Park Service (NPS) stated on Monday , Sept. 8 .

NPS rangers responded to a report that a vehicle with a single occupant had gone over the canyon’s edge at about 12:40 p.m. Sunday, and were able to locate a body approximately 300 feet below.
