Each September, Sid Jacobson JCC observes the 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance by turning reflection into action. This Sunday, the JCC will host its monthly Curb Your Mitzvah collection drive, inviting the community to honor the legacy of September 11, 2001 through acts of service that directly support our local heroes and neighbors in need.

Participants will help restock the JCC’s Nikki Schwartz Memorial Community Needs Bank, benefiting local families facing food insecurity, and take part in projects to thank first responders for their courage and service.

In partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island , the day includes a clothing drive, with a truck on-site to collect new or gently used clothing and household items.
