THE Kansas City Chiefs will begin their home campaign fresh off a major departure from the franchise.
Andy Reid 's troops will welcome the Philadelphia Eagles to Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday in a re-run of Super Bowl 59.
But fans in attendance will have to get used to a new voice on the sound system as long-time announcer Dale Carter has left the franchise with immediate effect.
Carter, who had been with the Chiefs for over 16 years, announced his shock departure on Facebook .
He wrote: "Today, I feel like an enormous weight has been lifted from me,” wrote Carter.
“I have informed the Kansas City Chiefs that I am resigning, effective immediately, as Stadium PA Voice of the Chiefs.
