A recall has been issued for thousands of Toyota, Subaru, and Lexus vehicles due to problems with their heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
In a Sept. 5 recall notice National Highway Traffic Safety Administration noted that Toyota’s parent company, which owns Lexus and a part of Subaru, detected some of its vehicles in the model years 2023 to 2025 may have defective HVAC systems.
The NHTSA added in the notice that these systems may have electrical compressor failure, which may cause the defroster or defogger to not work, raising the risk of a crash.
