Seven candidates have put their hands up to replace retiring City of Joondalup mayor Albert Jacob.
The line-up comprises four current Joondalup councillors, a former Federal MP, a butcher and a real estate agent, who are all seeking to lead the city into a new era over the next four years following Mr Jacob’s decision not to seek re-election after eight years in the role.
Ian Goodenough, Cr Nige Jones, Russell Poliwka, Douglas Hutton, Cr Rebecca Pizzey, Cr Christine Hamilton-Prime and Cr Daniel Kingston make up the field of seven.
Covering 22 suburbs from Duncraig to Kinross, the City of Joondalup is home to 164,000 residents, making it Perth’s third-largest local government by population.
