BEAUFORT COUNTY, SC (WTOC) - [UPDATE 2:23 p.m. 9/12/2025] One suspect is in custody and one victim has been hospitalized with gunshot wounds following a shooting on Hilton Head Island early this morning.

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office believes there was only one person involved in the shooting and that there is no threat to the community at this time.

Additionally, the Sheriff’s Office has not yet revealed the status of the victim.
