Complete strangers have come to the rescue of an Australian entrepreneur who almost died after a routine surgery in Bali went horribly wrong.

Professional bodybuilder and gym owner Jackson Peos, 30, was told by Indonesian doctors he had nothing to worry about when he went in for a routine digestive procedure on the holiday island he now calls home in June.

For a few days he thought he was in the clear, but things soon went wrong and he was rushed back to Bali International Hospital coughing up blood and in severe pain.

Doctors soon discovered Peos was bleeding internally and had severe thrombosis, a serious condition that occurs when blood clots block veins or arteries.
