CROSBY — An operating levy is on the ballot for Crosby-Ironton voters this fall, and the outcome could have significant impacts for the school district.
The ask is $1.5 million a year over the next 10 years, amounting to $1,521 per student.
“This is not a want. There’s a huge difference between wanting things and needing things,” Superintendent Rick Aulie said during an interview on Tuesday, Sept. 9. “C-I Schools needs this. End of story.”
After unsuccessful levies in 2023 and 2024, the district has had to make $1 million in budget cuts and still faces a $1 million deficit that is expected to rise to $1.5 million within the next five years.
