MCCOOK, Neb. (KSNB) - Officials in McCook and Red Willow County are getting some answers to questions they have regarding the plan to transform the Work Ethic Camp into an ICE detention center.
Earlier this week , leaders in McCook said despite reaching out to representatives with the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services and Governor Jim Pillen’s Office about questions and concerns since the initial announcement on Aug. 19., they had gotten limited answers.
That has now changed with representatives of the county, city and McCook Economic Development Corporation sharing what they have learned after recent meetings about safety, impact, operations and transportation.
