Welcome to Week 4 of the Florida high school football season in the Gainesville area.

We have an absolutely loaded schedule on tap this week. Eight games Friday are between two playoff teams from 2024. They are Bradford at Mandarin, Eastside at Trinity Catholic, Buchholz at Manatee, Hawthorne at Oakleaf, Chiefland at Lafayette, Baldwin at Union County, Godby at Suwannee and Columbia at Madison County.

In the case of the Bobcats and Hornets, the challenge is immense. They are facing teams from the Elite 8 of their class. Of course, those teams were also among the Final Four in their class. Columbia, meanwhile is facing a defending state champion.

One thing is for certain. We're going to learn a heck of a lot this week.
