CAMERON, La. (KPLC) - A student at South Cameron High School is accused of making a school threat.
Around 1:10 p.m. Thursday, teachers were told that a student had made a threat earlier in the day, according to Cameron Parish School Board Superintendent Charley Lemons. Teachers searched the student’s backpack and found an airsoft gun.
The Cameron Parish Sheriff’s Office was called and arrested the 10-year-old student, CPSO spokesperson David French said. The student was charged with terrorizing and released to parents on a $5,000 bond.
Lemons said there was no imminent danger to students or staff at any time. Staff also visited classrooms to remind students how to report concerns to adults on campus.
