Highland Park -- The large parking lot at the Heritage Square train station is being eyed as a future housing site.

Metro is soliciting public feedback on developing the 1.26-acre Park and Ride site near Pasadena Avenue and the Arroyo Seco Parkway . The agency plans to release a request for proposals for development late next fall or early next winter, according to Metro spokesperson Edith Burge. The number of units has not yet been decided.

This development is connected to Metro’s plan to add 10,000 homes to its portfolio by 2031, 5,000 of which are to be income-restricted.
