A police investigation shut down all lanes on northbound I-94 near the I-57 split Friday afternoon, prompting traffic on both highways.
Illinois State Police said their troopers responded around 3:10 p.m. Wednesday to a report of an expressway shooting on I-94 northbound near 95th Street. An occupant in a vehicle on I-94 fired a weapon at another vehicle, police said.
All northbound lanes were shut down for the investigation, police said.
Delays of up to 20 minutes were expected on northbound I-94 as of 3:30 p.m. Friday, according to Total Traffic.
No injuries were reported, police said.
