MONONA, Wis. (WKOW) — A Madison man was arrested for his sixth offense of operating while intoxicated (OWI) following a chase on Thursday.
Tyler M. Miller, 36, was initially found unconscious behind the wheel on Highway 51, according to Monona Police Chief Brian Chaney. When officers tried to stop him around 11:40 p.m., he fled, leading police on a chase that ended with the safe deployment of a tire deflation device and a PIT maneuver, Chaney reported.
Miller remained uncooperative after the vehicle was stopped and refused commands to exit the vehicle, Chaney said. Officers used ballistic shielding to approach the vehicle and physically removed Miller from the vehicle.
No one was hurt and no damage, other than to Miller's vehicle, was reported.
