FAIR HAVEN — The town’s newest selectman says he just wants to help.

Town Manager Joe Gunter said this week the board had voted to appoint Keith Hier to fill the vacancy left last month by the resignation of Michael Doran Jr. Hier was one of three applicants for the position, alongside Glenn Heitkamp and Shawn Brink, and was chosen unanimously after the board met in executive session to discuss the selection.
