BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) -- Sen. Bill Cassidy is seeking support from U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to address Louisiana's increase in whooping cough cases.

Cassidy, who is running for reelection, wrote in a letter that Louisiana is amidst the worst whooping cough outbreak in 35 years, citing the death of two babies from the contagious illness and CDC data reporting 368 total cases. He wants Kennedy to support the whooping cough vaccine as he did for Texas's measles outbreak.
