SHREVEPORT, La. — The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office will conduct a sobriety checkpoint from 10pm to 2am on September 12 in South Caddo Parish.
The checkpoint's purpose is to raise awareness about impaired driving and to apprehend and remove such drivers from the roads to prevent potential harm to themselves and others.
According to the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission, the number of impaired drivers involved in accidents has decreased, but officials say there is still much work to be done. Funding for the checkpoint is provided through a grant from the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission.
