Oklahoma State will get a much-needed Saturday away from football this weekend.

The bruises are still healing from last week’s 69-3 loss at No. 4 Oregon. A reset was definitely needed as the team prepares for Friday’s game against visiting Tulsa.

Shortly after the 66-point loss, Mike Gundy was asked if the bye week comes at a good time.

“Some people say this one's too early, but we practiced for four weeks in the summer. So the timing of it's fine, you know, after game two, game three, somewhere in there,” Gundy said. “But it'll be good for us now to get back to basic football and reprogram these guys.”

Gundy made an immediate point of saying that the Oregon game plan was too complex. The past week was meant to go back to the basics.
