Former MSNBC pundit Matthew Dowd has spoken out, days after being fired for comments made in the wake of the shooting death of Charlie Kirk

Dowd wrote that he was "shell-shocked" by the events of the week, saying that he felt the network caved to pressure from "the Right Wing media mob" in firing him

Following his firing, Comcast executives issued an open letter to employees, urging them to "engage with respect, listen, and treat people with kindness."

Matthew Dowd is speaking out, days after being fired for comments made in the wake of the shooting death of Charlie Kirk .

Kirk, a right-wing media personality and political organizer, was shot and killed during a speaking event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday, Sept. 10. He was 31.
