CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - A fire engineer with the James Island Public Service District has been reported missing by family and friends while he was on vacation in Bali, Indonesia.

Wesley Fairey traveled with friends to Uluwatu in Bali on Aug. 15 and was to return to the U.S. on Sept. 8, according to his mother, Taunya Fairey.

A friend of Wesley Fairey said in a Facebook post that Fairey was staying at the Klapa Resort near Padang and checked out on Aug. 25. He reportedly rented a black sedan and left the Uluwatu area around Aug. 25.

Taunya Fairey says she lost communication with her son around Aug. 29.
