NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Museums and cultural shows are major attractions in New York.

The American Museum of Natural History is a popular place, and it always has some new sights to see.

Exhibits at the American Museum of Natural History come in all shapes, sizes, and ages.

The big blue whale has been hanging out for more than 50 years, and dinosaurs always draw a crowd. A new dinosaur exhibit is set for November. The display will focus on the asteroid that led to their extinction.

Sean Decatur is the museum president and a biophysical chemist.

“The museum has 30 million objects and specimens. Being able to connect actual specimens that tell history with research in a direct way, that’s what the museum has always done, and that’s what brings people back,” he said.
