SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WMBD) -- Gov. JB Pritzker signed an executive order to protect immunization access statewide during the fall respiratory virus season.
The executive order, known as the Statewide Vaccine Access Initiative, is led by the Illinois Department of Public Health in partnership with multiple state agencies to ensure Illinois residents can get the vaccines.
It also directs IDPH Director Dr. Sameer Vohra to issue a standing order to allow providers in pharmacies and other clinical settings to administer vaccines recommended by IDPH after consultation with the Immunization Advisory Committee.
