Another fresh face in local politics, Eric Myricks has entered the fray of candidates for Nampa mayor.

Myricks, 49, is an established jazz musician known by his stage name, Elijah Rock. He moved to Idaho with his family several years ago and has been a Nampa resident for three years.

Besides his creative endeavors, Myricks runs the Elijah Rock Foundation Inc., dedicated to advancing dementia research, according to its website. The foundation also provides financial assistance for those in need of long-term dementia care.

Myricks also chairs the board of a startup health tech company that utilizes artificial intelligence to support workflow for caregivers and nurses.
