After a stretch of cooler days, temperatures on Friday will return closer to average for this time of year for Northern California.
Meteorologist Ophelia Young said Friday's forecast high for downtown Sacramento is 89 degrees. The average for this time of year is 90 degrees.
The Foothills could see highs in the mid-80s, while the Sierra could reach the upper 60s.
Storms may linger Friday afternoon south of Tahoe, but for the most part, unsettled weather that came in Thursday has mostly exited the region.
Young said temperatures will continue to warm this weekend, but a breeze will pick up Saturday evening as a quick weather system heads north, slightly dropping temperatures.
