The Burlington police department has charged three people with trespassing at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility, according to a press release from the department.

Police were sent to the ICE facility on 1000 District Ave. in Burlington at around 11 a.m. on Friday after reports of three people trespassing.

The officers attempted to deescalate the situation but the people refused to leave, according to the press release.

The three people were identified as Nathan Philips, 58, of Newton, Nastasia Lawton-Sticklor, 43, of Leominster and Eleanor Reid, 33, of Hanover, New Hampshire.

Police believe this was a planned protest with the ultimate goal of getting arrested, according to the release.

All three were charged with one count of trespassing and are scheduled to be arraign
