FRANKLIN, Ind. — A 17-year-old girl has a protective order in place against the man who serves as the Johnson County coroner. Court records allege that Mike Pruitt was stalking the teen through unwanted text messages. An Indiana State Police investigation is underway. But Pruitt does not face any criminal charges at this time.

Pruitt has made several appearances on 13News over many years, providing public safety messages as the public information officer with the Wayne Township Fire Department and then as former deputy chief of the Bargersville Fire Department. He also has been a member of Indiana Task Force 1, responding to several natural disasters across the country.

Pruitt is currently the elected coroner of Johnson County.
