ASOTIN COUNTY, Wash. – The Asotin County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) alerted residents on Friday to a scam involving a company called "Asphalt Paving."
Officials reported that this company is neither licensed, bonded nor insured and appears to be fictitious. A local resident reportedly hired them to fix a pothole for $54, but the company ended up seal-coating the entire driveway and then demanded over $6,000, which the resident was pressured into paying.
The ACSO advised residents to be cautious when agreeing to work. They emphasized the importance of not feeling pressured into signing contracts or accepting quotes hastily and warned against falling for "limited time offers."
