Harmong Magnet Academy graduate Isabel Aguilar was one of the 50 high school graduates entering Fresno State recently recognized as a Smittcamp Scholar.

Fresno State President Saúl Jiménez-Sandoval welcomed the high school graduates from throughout the state to campus on Aug. 13 as the 27th cohort of President’s Honors Scholars in the Smittcamp Family Honors College .

The freshmen were selected from a pool of more than 500 applicants, said Dr. Saeed Attar, director of the Smittcamp Family Honors College. High school seniors must meet one of the following two criteria in order to be eligible to apply: they must have a minimum 3.8 GPA in grades 9 to 11, or be in the upper 10 percent of their graduating class.
