The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has announced multiple closures and detours related to an $18 million project to upgrade Freedom Road, a primary access point to the Cranberry Mall.

Freedom Road will be closed to eastbound traffic between Powell Road and Haine School Road over three weekends beginning Saturday, Sept. 20 and ending Sunday, Oct. 5.

Traffic will be detoured via Rochester Road and Route 19 during that period. Westbound traffic will not be affected.

The intersection of Freedom Road and Rolling Road, which connects to a neighborhood, will remain closed through the end of September. Commuters traveling in either direction can use Freedom Road’s adjacent intersection with Laporte Drive as a detour.
