The new Degrassi documentary will premiere Saturday at TIFF, so Miriam McDonald (Emma), Amanda Stepto (Spike), and director Lisa Rideout spoke to CTV's The Social about the experience.
Miriam and Amanda hadn't seen each other in 15 years.
Lisa says they started with the show's most controversial moments and used that as a base for the doc.
Amanda says her pregnant teen storyline was surprisingly well-received in the 80s, and fans even sent gifts for "baby Emma."
They discuss "teens playing teens" and the show catching firsts, such as Miriam's first real-life kiss (with character Sean).
They also bring up Drake and Miriam mentions how sweet his mom was.
