MADISON, Wis. -- The City of Madison reached a new collective bargaining agreement with the union representing its Metro Transit drivers and mechanics, city officials announced Friday night.

While specific details of the agreement weren't released, the city said it includes a 3% increase in pay per year, quicker progression in vacation accrual and guaranteed personal protection equipment.

The city said the new agreement will boost collaboration between the city and union members when it comes to working conditions and guidelines, and will ensure safe working conditions.
