ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Residents across the Metro East say they know it’s going to take time to fix the flooding issues, but they hope they won’t be forgotten. Some are hopeful about the future of flood reduction efforts, while others say they still feel helpless.
But, no matter their current thoughts, the communities of the Metro East showed up to hear what might be next in efforts to reduce a continual problem for homeowners -- flooding connected to the sewers and wastewater systems.
The team called the event a “Community Day” for the homeowners of Metro East communities like Cahokia Heights and East St. Louis to learn about how flood mitigation efforts are being funded and the latest updates on flood mitigation.
