VANCOUVER Wash. (KPTV) - After weeks of delays due to contract negotiations and a classified worker strike, the Evergreen School District finally had its first day of school on Friday.

Students had mixed reactions on their first day back. While there was some excitement that school had finally started back up, most kids were not thrilled their first day back was a Friday.

“I was really bored the last couple weeks waiting for school to start back up, but now that I’m back at school, my sleep schedule has been terrible,” freshman Ablam Castaneda said.

Castaneda added that a big reason he was so tired on the first day of school was that they did not get much time to get ready.
