LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Peak Fall color is still weeks away in lower Michigan but recent dry weather and a shift in temperatures will likely impact this year’s leaf change.

News 10 spoke to Evan Fisher the founder of the Fall foliage tracking site Explore Fall . Fisher is a meteorologist himself and has designed a computer model that tracks and forecasts the annual leaf color change.

Fisher said this year’s Fall foliage may be chaotic.

“We’re going to see, because of these very temperature regimes, some really chaotic pockets of color,” he said.

Fisher said drought will be one of the contributing factors to when Fall color peaks but it is hard to tell how much of an impact it might have.
