WASHINGTON CITY, Washington County — Neighbors of the family of suspected shooter Tyler Robinson , accused of killing political activist Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University, are now reacting to his arrest.

Robinson’s hometown, Washington City, Utah, is located approximately 260 miles south of the UVU campus in Orem.

KSL TV spoke to neighbors of Robinson’s family, who’ve known him since he was a child. They tell KSL they’re shocked he’s the accused gunman.

One neighbor, Kristen Schwerman, lives just a few houses down from the Robinsons. She said she’s known the family for years and was the head custodian at the school they all attended.

Schwerman describes Robinson as someone with a mild personality who always kept to himself. She’s shocked he’s reportedly behind Kirk’s killing.
