LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) -- Mason Martin is the new single-season homerun king for the Lancaster Stormers.

The infielder knocked his 35th ball out of Penn Medicine Park this season in the bottom of the third inning of the Stormers' contest against the Lexington Legends, breaking Caleb Gindl's 2021 record.

In electric fashion, it followed a homerun in the same inning from Stormers' infielder Luis Castro. Martin gave Legends' pitcher Dustin Biggs no rest, responding shortly after with a homerun of his own.

This one, however, was record-breaking.

The Pittsburgh Pirates drafted Martin in the 2017 Major League Baseball draft. He was crowned the Pirates Minor League Player of the Year in 2019.
