STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.— The Seagulls of McKee/Staten Island opened their PSAL 3A campaign on Friday with a 20-8 home win over New Utrecht, powered by a dominant ground game and a stingy defense.

The Seagulls (2-1 overall) trailed early to the Utes, but Chris App Jr.’s team rattled off 20 unanswered in an effort that the MSIT head coach was extremely pleased with.
