LACKAWANNA COUNTY, Pa. — Two state troopers shot last month in an ambush were honored at a high school football game in Lackawanna County.
Troopers William Jenkins and Joseph Perechinsky served as honorary Lakeland team captains as the chiefs faced off against the Wyoming Area.
It was all part of the school's third year of the "Salute to service" game.
"It's an absolute privilege to be able to honor Trooper Jenkins and Trooper Perishinski. I mean, they're such big parts of our community, and we're beyond, you know, grateful to have the opportunity to honor them, and it's truly, it's a privilege and, we're extremely humbled to have them here as our guests," said Marc Wyandt, Lakeland superintendent.
Both men attended Lakeland High.
