HAMILTON — Bo Levi Mitchell threw two touchdown passes while Greg Bell scored two TDs to power the Hamilton Tiger-Cats past the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 32-21 on Friday night.
Mitchell leads the CFL with 26 TD strikes as Hamilton (8-5) earned a second straight win to move six points ahead of the second-place Montreal Alouettes (5-7) in the East Division. The Ticats also earned the victory before a Hamilton Stadium gathering of 22,913 following the death of GM Ted Goveia earlier in the day.
Mitchell finished 21-of-28 passing for 230 yards while Kenny Lawler had seven catches for 97 yards in his first game against his former team. Bell rushed for 137 yards on 22 carries and a TD — his second-straight 100-yard game — while adding three catches for 31 yards and a touchdown.
