BANGOR -- After multiple rounds of legal wrangling with the current owner of the Bangor Mall, Maine State Senator Joe Baldacci says the mall's future could be taking a turn for the better.
Baldacci says the city has been contacted by a national developer that has successfully built and run or remodeled other malls across the country. The developer wants to come to Bangor and present their ideas for re-imagining the Bangor Mall, including not just retail space but perhaps housing as well. He says the important thing is to get back to making the mall the community asset it once was.
"It's near the hospitals, the interstate, and the university. It's near a lot of other housing, a lot of other retail, and there's no reason that we as a community and region shouldn't be getting economic benef
