URBANA, Ill. (WAND) — Members of the National Security Commission on Emerging Biotechnology (NSCEB) met with U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth Friday to discuss biotechnology innovation at the University of Illinois' Illinois Fermentation and Agriculture Biomanufacturing (i-FAB) Tech Hub.

A $51 million investment from the U.S. Economic Development Administration, given to the iFAB Tech Hub in 2024, allows them to bring in a consortium of partners in precision fermentation and agricultural biomanufacturing who are committed to driving economic growth and precision fermentation into the future.

The visit was part of the NSCEB Biotech Across America Roadshow, a months-long showcase of centers across the country.
