After scoring on a touchdown and two-point conversion to go ahead with 42 seconds to play, Augusta Prep found itself seconds away from a victory against St. Andrews.

On defense, a blown assignment in coverage by the Cavaliers allowed Lions senior running back Amari Cook to score on a 40-yard touchdown catch. A successful two-point attempt and defensive stop on fourth down later, and the Lions would end up winning the game, 24-22.

Cavaliers head coach Phelps Hunnicutt knew at some point the play-action pass that eventually won the Lions the game would be used. He tried to have his team simulate guarding the action in practice earlier in the week. But with only 23 players on the roster, it was a challenge to truly simulate what they’d face.
