MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - The secretary and CEO of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) is resigning from her position next week, Governor Evers’ office announced.

Missy Hughes has held this position since she was appointed by Evers in 2019.

Gov. Evers said that Hughes played an important role in his mission of boosting Wisconsin’s economy by supporting local businesses and workers.

Hughes also recognized the hard work she did at WEDC.

“Every day, Wisconsin is solving problems for the world, and we’ve made sure the world has us on its mind,” Hughes said. “I’m incredibly grateful to have been a part of this work and the Evers Administration.”
